Sherice Simone Davis-Fraser was born on November 10, 1987, in Brooklyn, New York, to parents Twanna Davis and Andre Small. As her mother’s only child and her father’s firstborn, Sherice was a cherished blessing, warmly welcomed by both families. Her grandmother Elma remarked, and everyone agreed, that Sherice was the most beautiful baby anyone had ever seen.
Gifted with both intelligence and beauty, Sherice excelled in everything she pursued. After graduating from Franklin K. Lane High School, she went on to study criminal justice in college. With a strong desire to help others, she ultimately found her calling in healthcare, working with the Health and Hospitals Corporation and NYU. When Sherice cared for you, she selflessly did all she could to help. Amongst her sweetness, there was spice; she was never timid or afraid to speak up.
Ever since she was a child, “Reesie” or “Reese” loved to dance, and would often be the center of attention at family gatherings. She had a laugh that was contagious and a loving, nurturing spirit. Sherice carried herself with such maturity and grace, relishing her time spent with family. There was nothing Sherice wouldn’t do for her loved ones. A truly remarkable young woman, she had an entrepreneurial mindset and approached life with purpose, embodying responsibility, reliability, and independence.
Those who knew Reesie were well aware of her innate maternal instincts and her desire to become a mother. She enjoyed spending time with her baby sister, younger cousins, and friends' children, caring for them and taking them on outings. On August 21, 2021, Sherice married Laurex Fraser. She was the most gorgeous bride. From this union came the long-awaited blessing the entire family had prayed for: baby girl Londyn Dream Davis Fraser, born on May 28, 2022.
Sherice was destined to be a mother, and her love for Londyn was clear and abundant. She would do anything for her daughter, who adored her mommy. The two were inseparable; Londyn was always by Sherice’s side, through it all. This bond and everlasting love were the highlights of Sherice’s beautiful life.
Sherice Simone Davis is survived by her parents, Twanna and Andre; her daughter, Londyn; her husband, Laurex; siblings Alexia and Ryan; aunts Desiree, Kashana, Jacqueline, Cheryl-Ann, and Dianne; uncles Dion, Michael, Anthony, Albert, and “Pumpkin”; and first cousins Areya, Kamal, Shea, Hamish Jr., Chaz, Keron, Everton Jr., Donovan, Niekka, Tristann, Latoya, Qualeem, Terrell, Lavaughn Jr., Devon, Imani, Danesha, Joshua, Dioshjanique, Dionna, Laser, Silver, Data, Tomar Jr., Theo and Tilden. She also leaves behind countless extended family, loved ones and friends.
We will deeply miss the “Sparkle” Sherice brought into our lives. Her memory will live on as we find solace in knowing she rests peacefully in God’s Kingdom among her loving ancestors who welcomed her with open arms. Reesie, we love you. Rest, sweetheart. Until we meet again.
